PESHAWAR, Dec 24 (NNN-APP): A suicide bomber blew himself up at police-check post in Peshawar cantonment, killing four persons and injuring 20 others, City Police Chief Liaquat Khan said. ?The bomber detonated himself while intercepted by police near PIA building and missionary Presentation Convent School on Arbab Road, killing four persons including policeman Hayatullah Khan and three others,? he told reporters at site of explosion. He said that PIA building was the target of suicide bomber. Eight to 10 kilogram explosive was used in the bombing, an official of BDS said. DCO Peshawar Sahibzada Anis, however ruled out the possibility of imposition of curfew in the provincial capital despite recent suicide bombing. He said that condition of four persons is critical. The injured were shifted to Lady Reading Hospital and Khyber Teaching Hospital for treatment. The DCO said that policemen are sacrificing their lives for protection of people and thwarted yet another terrorist attack. He said that Army would be called in for aid in case of untoward happening in Moharram. Police cordoned off the area and no body was allowed to enter site of explosion. NWFP Senior Minister Bashir Ahmed Bilour rushed to the site and inspected rescue activities. He said that it was a suicide attack. He said that such cowardice act of terrorism could not deter our determination in fight against militancy and terrorism and terrorists would be crushed. NWFP Minister for Sports and Culture, Syed Aqil Shah also visited the site and inspected relief activities. It was the second deadly suicide attack in Peshawar in last three days as on last Tuesday four persons were killed and 25 others injured in a suicide attack on Peshawar Press Club. Chief Minister Ameer Haider Khan Hoti and Information Minister Mian Iftikhar Hussain have strongly condemned the deadly explosion and termed it cowardice act. -NNN-APP
